hardware information A lot of the info about the hardware is in the /proc file. If you type [ cat /proc/* ] you will get several thousand lines of info about hardware and memory locations. Perhaps a better way is to look in the proc directory and examine the individual files and directories; most of which have names reflecting their content; or type [ cat /proc/* > hardware_file ] to send the ouput to hardware_file. For example, if you want to know the pci hardware that linux sees in your machine, type: [ cat /proc/pci ] |
